When a team of researchers from the University of Delaware traveled to Africa two years ago to search for exemplary chickens, they weren't looking for plump thighs or delicious eggs.
They were seeking out birds that could survive a hotter planet.
The researchers were in the vanguard of food scientists, backed by millions of dollars from the federal government, racing to develop new breeds of farm animals that can stand up to the hazards of global warming.

A tip for the scammers- Kauai is over run with chickens. Go “study” them. The diving and women are much nicer than Africa.

Chickens don’t need to adapt because there are already breeds of chickens that thrive in hot climates and there are breeds of chickens that thrive in cool climates.
They are spending millions trying to find a chicken you can find on your computer for free.

Chickens originated in the tropics. A warmer world would be perfect for them.

I hope the scientists, and the politicians that fund them, are held PERSONALLY liable for any damage they do in the name of the pseudo-science sham that is “climate change”.

LOL! The cries of “GMO gotta go” will be heard echoing soon. If I remember correctly, animals are pretty good at adapting to things without any help from us. As to GMO, how many years have folks been cross pollinating? Isn’t that GMO in it’s simplest form. Tree grafting? Yup, drought and bug resistant food supplies must be a bad thing. A lot of folks only look at it as BIG CHEM making huge profits. Sigh......

Living things do BETTER in a warm climate. It is an appreciably COLDER environment that may cause problems.(I think they used to teach this in college.)

If they just change it to global cooling due to sun activity..I then believe.

You hit the nail on the head, though. 2/3 of Canada, the northern third of Asia, (roughly speaking) would be more amenable to growing warmer climate crops. Think of the resources which could be developed besides the arable (and relatively virgin) land. Unreal that anyone could be against that.

Why did they have to go to Africa? Chickens have been surviving in Texas for a very long time!
Maybe they just wanted to go to Africa and here was their chance!

We stop at a farm on the weekends for milk and eggs. The owner told me they lost 11 brooders yesterday because the door to the coop blew open and they escaped into the "global warmth"
P.S. We still do not have leaves on the trees yet here in WI.
