Her only option now is to go to the hospital for infusions, where they can't turn her away for lack of coverage, and ultimately face a bill potentially in the millions. Millions? How do they justify that?

They’ll eat the cost. What else can they do? They can’t legally deny a dying patient treatment.
And a lawsuit/bad publicity are two things the hospital doesn’t want.

And here I thought *I* was bad at math, lol. At $400 for the daily infusion, a month’s worth of treatment would cost about $12,000. So unless those weekly blood tests cost $250,000 each, the numbers don’t add up.
