I lived in Berlin in the 80s and Putin was in Dresden overseeing the murdering of people trying to escape his regime.
Two eggs over medium, sausage and bacon, hash browns and coffee, black. Don’t worry ... nobody understands. Just ordering breakfast.
“Putin was in Dresden overseeing the murdering of people trying to escape his regime”
No he wasn’t.
He was a minor functionary most people had never heard of.
Is his name listed in the East German trials in invisible ink? I didn’t think so, either.
Uh, no he wasn’t. In Dresden, his job was to contact to foreigners to see if they’d be interested in becoming spies for the Soviet Union in the United States. Definitely a bad guy thing to be doing, but a far cry from “murdering ... people trying to escape his regime.”
