The IRA had strong ties to the PLO and at one time to the Soviets. They have always been a bloodthirsty, murderous bunch, commie/fascist, what you will.
As I recall, I only suggested you read up on this case. The allegations are pretty strong - especially those of the late (and completely crazed) Dolours Price who drove the “getaway” car. This case has taken off within the last two years since the Boston “experiment” has come to light and writers from the left-wing Guardian to the historian Amanda Foreman have taken up the cause of Jean McConville.
It’s a compelling story. There are at least two books on it, if you are interested.
