Those self-same individual voters who didn’t vote for Romney warned the GOP.

You are part of the problem, FRiend. You believe that minimum standards are fungible.

I have not stated that there is any grand conspiracy, but only that the primaries are rigged to favor the establishment-backed candidate. The GOP establishment bet that the independent votes would be added to the conservative votes, without ensuring they had the conservative votes first. They lost that bet.

But to you, that makes the conservatives oh so wrong.

As I stated before, good luck with that.

Did I not give you a great example of strong conservative grassroots beating the establishment backed candidate? CRUZ! We did it by VOTING, not sitting on our hands crying about ronpaul or another fringer not getting their due respect and artificial support.

Yes, you did cite Cruz, and I find his win highly encouraging.

However, your blatant attempt to tar me as a “fringe” candidate supporter is stupid. I would hope it would be beneath you, but the evidence says otherwise.

I would also note that a one-state candidate can much more easily push through the establishment’s desires. By the time Kansas held its presidential primaries, there was no chance for anyone but Romney to win.

I wonder if those who are objecting to Jeb Bush will be faced with the same diatribes after he is the latest moderate to lose for the GOP? I certainly wouldn’t bet against it!

You are part of the problem, and you screech that anyone who doesn’t jettison their principles at the altar of the GOPe is the one who is wrong.

Once again, good luck with that.

Krauthammer’s Take: New Benghazi E-mail Akin to Discovery of Nixon Tapes

NRO May 1, 2014

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxtr9_8yoqI&feature=player_embedded

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

It is appalling that President Obama never was in the Situation Room the night of September 11, 2012, as our ambassador to Libya and three other men were being attacked, captured, and eventually killed after being dragged through the streets of Benghazi and tortured in hideous fashion.

Secretary of Defense, Leon Panetta, said that he: ‘Could not put forces at risk’ in order to rescue our men who were under Muslim terrorist attack in Benghazi.

An article in the Prague newspaper, Prager Zeitungon hit the bulls-eye:

“The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America . Blaming the prince of fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their President.”

If Trey Gowdy Chairs the Congress Select Committee to investigate Benghazi, this scandal will prove to be much worse than Watergate.

I realize the biggest issue was Obamacare and we gave it away by nominating the architect of Romneycare. I don’t vote for a socialist just because he has an (R) after his name.

No Senor, I fight the “my guy” fight at the proper place, the Primary! In the POTUS general election its either win or lose, you either ACTIVELY vote for one or PASSIVELY vote for the other. Sitting out the election was passively voting for nobama, plain and simple.

Politics is always some level of compromise, the only purity where folks can get their way is in some place like Iran. In democratic (I know, we are a Representative Republic) countries sometimes, maybe most of the time, do not get the best leader from those that run, but sometimes we get a Washington or a Reagan.

I totally agree that staggered Primaries do not necessarily serve well at picking the real cream of the crop. Maybe we should all have Primaries on the same day.

One very big reason we ended up with Romney was due to those stupid “sound byte, Gotcha” debates, which were really not debates at all. Being realistic and faced with how someone comes across on TV is also a reality and is life and death the way our general elections have evolved.

One thing I would propose to help out in Primaries would be to require all candidates to produce a minimum of 15% (verifiable voter signature petition) to get on the Primary ballot or on the debate stage. This way fringe candidates are not allowed to muddy the water or pull some “gotcha” stunt.

In 2016, I can guarantee you that Jeb will not do well in the Texas Primary!

I just got a great idea, there is no argument that Texas is the leader when it comes to standing up for Liberty and Freedom, how about Texas do our Primary first and the other States Primary from whomever finishes in our top 3?

” I don’t vote for a socialist just because he has an (R) after his name.”. No one really who thinks, really thinks Romney was a socialist, he was not the most conservative, if anything he was too much a capitalist. The “purists” problem with him was more relating to Mormon or his not being libertarian, whether you admit it or not.

The reality of our General Election system is that you either actively VOTE FOR one candidate or you passively VOTE FOR the opposing candidate (sit out the election as a purist).

I do not think I’m alone in thinking there are some who can vote that should not be allowed. “ I don’t vote for a socialist just because he has an (R) after his name.” comes real close to that group.

Think what you may but the establishment is the reason we have Obama or have you forgot the two Bushes. The only way to pull this party to the right is to insist on more conservative choices. The moderates get us the same thing as the liberals just slower. As for amnesty...do really think amnesty would pass if Ted Cruz were President....not much doubt if John McCain had won!!!

WRONG! The only way to steer any political party is by being the majority of voters! The “elites” may resist, but in the end they can not rule the majority.

We conservatives may be the majority within the GOP, I think so and hope that is the case, but I have seen no definitive proof of it. One unrefutable fact is, the purists that refuse to vote diminish our majority, not enhance it.

Thank you for illustrating why you are part of the problem. Once upon a time, the GOP espoused genuine "big tent" politics - they built on a core foundation of conservative values by demonstrating some flexibility around those core convictions.

Now, anyone who is unwilling to compromise their core principles are condemned by folks like you - just because they understand what the word "principle" means. (While you have your dictionary out, you may also want to look up the word "unacceptable".)

One other word that comes into play is "minimum". The folks you condemn as "purists", in general, did not require 100% fidelity to their viewpoint, but they were quite clear that Romney didn't reach an acceptable minimum of conformance. As for myself, I expressed that I would have a very tough time voting for Romney - which is entirely true. And yet, here you are, condemning anyone who didn't accept the excrement sandwich foisted on us by the republican party as a whole.

I held my nose and voted in 2012. In 2008, I voted much more for VP than president. In 2016, I hope to see a candidate I can actually support. I am through accepting an 80% excrement sandwich because the other side has 90%(+) crap.

Those that would castigate anyone who holds fast to their conservative principles should be honest - they do not want people who believe in ideas at all. They only want those who believe in party.

Good luck with that.

You don't make the party more conservative by putting liberals into leadership positions my friend. We've done it your way the last thirty years....no more!!! Tired of promises during the election only to be stabbed in the back by the Mclames and Gramnestys!!! We made major gains under Ronald Reagan only to have Bush 41 give it all back!!!

We do NOT have a news media.

We have a propaganda ministry.

Well said Laz. Yet we have to counter the LIV who get their news from late night comedians. I think that is an uphill battle we may never win.
