I have, in the past, had to put down a couple of pets. I refused to pay someone to do it for me. CO2 and CO are easy, trivially easy, to manufacture. Kills painlessly.

Doesn't the buildup of CO2 cause the panic response? Indeed, makes it feel like you cant quite breath deep enough, but it shouldn't last long. Pop them a few Xanax before hand... CO is even better, that sucker sneaks up and you.

And just for the record, in general, I oppose capital punishment, although I don't really mind when a bad guy dies.
