How will this be received within Ukraine? Will the citizenry rally around the Kyiv government or will this increase the instability that is already building and threaten the central government?

Ukraine will split, as it is anyway...there is a vast “culture” difference between East and West.....

The current Gov. is primarily Western Ukraine which carries a large segment of Nazi adhereants....Eastern Ukraine is predominately Russian and the two will never mix enough to be united.

Trouble for the West is they wanted to go with EU......looks like Russia’s willing to let them go but not with the Industrial sites in EAstern Ukraine nor Crimea where the ports are.

Putin’s securing the “resource areas...so if Western Ukraine breaks off they will have nothing but agriculture to offer the EU.

The Industry in the East is largely Russian Military facilities, under contracts with Ukraine for manufacturing etc. Putin’s not going to let those “secrets” get into Eu/US hands. And the people in the EAst aren’t about ready to loose their jobs for Keiv/Us/Eu plans for taking it over.
