As far as the politicians in office are concerned, paying $53K per vote is cheap, as long as it's taxpayer money.

If they could, they'd gladly borrow $53 million per voter from China to buy enough votes to keep them in office for just one more election cycle.

When the CBO’s estimate total net amount of newly insured — whether customers have private coverage, Medicaid or CHIP — are compared to the health care law’s total cost over the next decade, the cost per person is slightly higher at $53,192.
