Students who graduate from the University of California-Berkeley can expect to spend roughly $120,000 for a four-year degree. This year, they still must pay an extra $10 to attend their own graduation ceremony, where they will also listen to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.
Students who do not cough up the cash before Wednesday, April 30 for the campus-wide commencement ceremony have been told they will not be able to attend on May 17 at California Memorial Stadium.

Sure - because the one thing recent college graduates want to do before receiving their diplomas is listen to a long-winded, self-righteous partisan speech from a political hack.
Poor marketing. They should have let them in and then told them they'd have to pay ten bucks to get out of it.

My daughter graduated from UC Berkeley last year — thank GOD Pelosi wasn’t the graduation speaker. I would have NEVER attended, let alone coughed up $10 to this millionaire nation destroyer.

Perfect. Pelosi could be the Berzerkeley mascot. A bunch of liberal skulls full of mush paying to hear the ranting and raving of a crazy woman is poetic justice.

You’ll have to pay $10 for her speech, to find out what is in it.

Outrageous! Please! It's Berkley, the students would gladly pay a hundred each if went to a hero like Pelosi!

I would have NEVER attended, let alone coughed up $10 to this millionaire nation destroyer. Same here, my daughter graduated from there although it was 2001. Get used to constant phone calls soliciting donations. I block the calls. The ones that I answer, I give them lip that they need to support conservative causes and then hang up on them. She went there for the education, not the politics. Pelosi deserves to be spat on for forcing herself on those kids.

Well, if that graduating class is anything like my HS class of ‘77, almost everyone would refuse to participate. They would instead have an alternate ceremony, complete with bands and many kegs of beer.

If you don’t pay, do you still graduate? Or do you have to go for another semester?

Not my friend who is graduating from UCB this year - lol No, there is of course a small minority, like your friend and my niece who graduated Berkley, and my niece is a staunch Conservative and devout Catholic. Sometimes no matter how damned the school, they are still among the best for certain fields.
