What a witch hunt. If they burn him at the stake it still won’t make the witch hunters happy. The accusation is worse than the thought crime which, as private speech, is still a first ammendment right - so far.

The first amendment is a restriction on the power of the federal government - and, by USSC revisionism - state and local government, to regulate speech. It does not apply to private employers and their relations with their employees. An owner of an NBA team is a franchise holder, and subject to the rules of the franchisee. If you own a business, you can fire an employee for offensive language, even if that language does not occur in the workplace, but nevertheless becomes known publicly. Of course, various "civil rights" laws are now even muddying the waters of what private employers can do. The Constitution has basically been gutted, and the only things that are basically intact are procedural things like the term-lengths of presidents and congressmen, and the frequency of elections.
