NFL and NBA could both be in trouble down the line. They may have experienced their zenith. My sports fan Grandpa was finished with pro sports in the mid 1980s. High priced cry babies from the owners on down. I am now like my grandpa, with no interest in the on going soap operas. Underpaid cheerleaders who voluntarily try out, concussion problems for men who voluntarily agree to play when young and then get paid to as pros. Owners sapping taxpayers for money to build stadiums or bolting for the next town. Players by and large being broke soon after their playing days are over. I have seen enough.
the working man has nailed it. I’m in total agreement. Most of these so called athletes have been pampered their whole lives because they can play a sport. The best brain surgeons in the world don’t make the money those fools do for playing a sport. I too have boycotted them for some time and have no interest in watching any of the games.
Funny you should mention the stadiums. I’ve felt for years that no public money should EVER be put into those things. If a team wants a stadium to play in, no problem from me as long as they pay to build it and play by the same rules as the rest of us, Property taxes, Building permits and so on. Maybe then they would put some bucks into maintaining and improving those monuments to the ‘egos’ of their particular game.
As soon as taxpayer money is allocated then they become just like the rest of the ‘Takers’, Gimme, gimme or I’ll do.. (Whatever).
