Yeah, I found that info out a few hours ago. But he still represents players. He should be banned from that.

NBA Suspends Clippers’ Owner Donald Sterling For Life, Imposes $2.5 Million Fine

Holy crap!
Accused, abused, tried and convicted in less than a week?

What did this guy do???

Did he shred the constitution?
Did he erase civil rights for hundreds of millions by ignoring and distorting the Bill of Rights?
Did he assume the role of absolute tyrant without resistance or consequences?
Did he enable the invasion by millions of low education ignorant illegal aliens with an attitude, many (most?) of them criminals, given the opportunity?
Did he sell arms surreptitiously to Mexican Drug lords resulting in deaths of dozens of Mexican and US nationals?
Did he abandon Diplomatic US personnel in a hostile MUSLIM terrorist environment, the lied about it?
Did he corrupt the most powerful Agencies of the central government to threaten, abuse and persecute political "enemies?"

NO?????????

He did WHAT??

The alleged failed contractual obligation would be Sterling's failure to conduct business on a "reasonable" and "ethical" level.

Hmm. Since when did a live-in lover become part of his conduct of business? His affair with the lover wasn't part of it; so how can his being rude to her, in whatever snotty racist way he chooses, be part of it?

Yeah, I know, the commissioner can call black white and he gets away with it.

Well we have two entities bowing to zeitgeist.

Here’s it’s a private (if large) organization.

There, it’s the government.

Same ill, but expressing itself in different ways.

The most telling thing is, they do not care about his messing around with a mistress. That’s passe. They do care about his saying racially improper remarks to said lover. That’s a huge deal.

You’re right about that. A contributor or editor wasn’t aware of the Milwaukee Buck’s recent sales price.

Stiviano is not an employee of the Clippers. The only business connection I can find between Stiviano and Sterling is that Stiviano is a director of the Donald T. Sterling Charitable Foundation.

"she’s not smart enough to set up something like this"

I'm not certain. V. Stiviano created "V. Stiviano" hats and shirts, and her Instagram account includes photos of people posing in the clothing She's promoting them, using her relationship with Sterling to promote them. Maybe that was Sterling's idea.

We're now being told Stiviano openly recorded many, if not most, of her conversations with Sterling, including the 'leaked' one. Stiviano is supposed to have 100+ hours of recorded conversations. That sounds as if she was collecting material for a tell-all book.

I think you give this bimbo too much credit.

A tell all book? Perhaps?

A convoluted scheme to take over his NBA Franchise along with Magic, who sold his interest in the Lakers to buy into the Clippers?

Doesn’t pass the logic test.

Why sell your interest in arguably the most valuable franchise in the NBA for one of the least valuable?

Magic is not buying the Clippers. I wish people would put that silly rumor to rest.

It would be like Reggie Jackson buying the Mets.

I understand your reasoning. I also think V. Stiviano has too much V. Stiviano interest to have conducted the whole four-year-long take-all-you-can relationship with Sterling for the benefit of Magic Johnson. Earvin III would be a much smaller piggy-bank than Donald.

***He has the means to bankrupt the NBA unless it loses in court prior to that***

I really lost it when the NBA Commish said he was going to TAKE the Clippers... When we lost the right of free speech apparently we lost our property rights.

Of course if Sterling goes the route of the courts he is facing the Ninth Circus mentality out there in Fornicalia... Still, I agree he should stay at it until he either bankrupts the NBA or brings sanity back to the fore...

I know nuttin' about the NBA, and care about as much; OTOH I think the NFL is not far behind - which really frosts me; what they did to Rush when he wanted to buy part of a team - threw a huge pack of lies at him and practically labeled him a Klan-er... I suspect they will get everything they deserve. The Libs and -craps have got football in their sights now [college and pro] - and whatever they want to destroy gets destroyed... Commish Roger Goodell does not fill me with the fighting spirit.

NUTS!

let them buy him out for 1 billioin and then we close our wallets and bankrupt the team by keeping our money and not supporting the new owner’s advertisers.

Yes. The number I’ve generally heard is $850 million to a billion. I’m trying to escape this, but Oprah Winfrey, David Geffen, and Larry Ellison are posed to make a group bid if the Clippers become available. A sports-obsessed friend is texting me. I’ve declared a moratorium on reading anything new about Sterling/NBA.

the NBA has become advertising poison.

ANYBODY that advertises on ANY NBA team is committing financial suicide from now on.

“Since when?”

Since it was written.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

The 1st Amendment restricts Congress from making laws that abridge free speech. The 1st Amendment does not prohibit private organizations from disciplining their voluntary members.
