Ted Cruz feels the BLM (Bureau of Land Management) should be reducing claims on public lands. The Republican Texas Senator is among those lawmakers weighing in on the Red River Texas and Oklahoma boundary dispute with the federal agency.
As previously reported by The Inquisitr, the BLM Red River boundary dispute may cause approximately 90,000 acres of privately held land to fall into the hands of the federal government. Texas rancher Tommy Henderson has become the focal point of the BLM dispute. Supporters from around the country are rallying around Henderson, much in the same manner as protesters did for Cliven Bundy and the Bundy ranch standoff in Nevada. Armed BLM agents have not arrived in Texas as they did in Bunkerville, but the issue many are calling yet another land grab by the federal agency could ultimately evolve into a similar standoff.
US Senator Ted Cruz, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, and Governor Rick Perry have all commented on the plight of rancher Tommy Henderson and his neighbors along the Red River.
Cruz had this to say about the BLM attempting to claim land which is currently held in private hands with a legal deed in the Lone Star State:
This is an important story that Breitbart broke and it is something that concerns me a great deal. In my view, the BLM already controls far too much land. We should be reducing the amount of federal land that the BLM controls and the amount of land that the federal government owns.

Come And Take It.
I would love to see President Cruz issue an executive order returning all federal lands not officially national forests or national parks to the states.
LOL the Dems could do nothing but cry and stomp their feet because they don't have any standing.
the problem is. those of us that hate it that much..
want NOTHING to do with it.
Yes, I am curious also, “Just curious - what is the total of land held by the government - at market value, might it total over $17.5 trillion?”
When the territories became states, did the federal government back then sell the territorial property to the states, or just hand it over? If they had previously just handed it over, then guess what - I say no sale. FedZilla just needs to hand it over to the proper authorities, the state. Or, the state just assumes its proper role and just takes it.
In cases if the BLM grabbed land without the federal government paying for it as required by the Constitution's Clause 17 of Section 8 of Article I or the 5th Amendment, then why should a state or private owners have to buy it back?
Cruz for President!
Cruz for President!
[ try a search on FEMA CAMPS ]
Why should they? I mean, we know why they should, but who’s going to make them?
The BLM is looking at TX/OK/KS with the intent of having new policies in place by 2017.
The potential exist for major changes as to how the land will be utililzed. Other states
need to be on the look out for at sometime the BLM most likely will come calling on them.

The BLM make little or no use of these lands so why hold them? The grazing and use fees are peanuts and collecting them hardly pays for the bureaucracy needed to process the payments. Sell off these land and use the proceeds to reduce the national debt. Private owners will make better use of the land AND pay taxes in the process.
A little humor:

These statements by Sen. Cruz are becoming irritating. He seems to be stealing all my own thoughts, and presenting them in articulate manner. Knock it off, Ted! Bob
BLM needs to be disarmed
If we don’t “fire-sale” the land or “give it away” to political cronies, we could repay the national debt.
The BLM needs to be shut down.
They would try to walk to school, but it is a long walk.
Good ticket... Cruz/Perry is too.
