One of those privileging Union pipe dreams robbing the rights of cops after they are done and retired or injured - no longer privileged nor with rights as Detroit Police realizes.
It is a scam targetting cops and citizens both.
LEO’s are no longer the friend of the law abiding conservative .
None of their “emergencies” are exigent enough to require removal of my self-defense tools from my possession.
It just might be better to leave the law the way it is. If you are armed and you KNOW that law enforcement intends to disarm you, you are in no doubt about the threat to your life.
If the bill passes, you can be sure that there will be law enforcement who will violate it anyway.
The existence of community wide emergencies does not trigger an exception to the Second Amendment; it is part of the reason that the Amendment exists at all.
Does New Orleans and Katrina sound familiar?
What part of “SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED” do they not understand. It is EXACTLY these types of situations where people need firearms the most.
Where I go, so do my assets.
Here is a hint:
My FIREARMS will keep my firearms from being confiscated...

Why have a “mandatory evacuation” law in the first place?
While forcing us to evacuate. I live in an X flood zone, meaning we're 50+ feet above sea level and not subject to evacuations during hurricanes, but law enforcement will go door-to-door to urge evacuations if not outright rip us from our homes.
I intend to bunker down and ride out the storm for anything under a CAT3. CAT4+ means we're going north and inland, but I'm taking a majority of my weapons with me and have plans to secure the rest.
