LOS ANGELES (CBS/AP) NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has scheduled a press conference for Tuesday afternoon to discuss the leagues investigation of racist comments purportedly made by Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling during a recorded conversation with a female companion.

You would think required speech and required reaction to “unapproved” speech would make more people a little uncomfortable.
She claims (according to TMZ) that the tapes were made in person, not on the phone, and that he KNEW he was being taped. He wanted his conversations recorded because he forgot so many things. That’s what she claimed, anyway.
This morning on TMZ it says that NBA lawyers were able to authenticate that it was him on the recordings, and that it was clear he knew he was being recorded. No confirmation from anyone who will actually speak on the record, of course. At least not yet.
Maybe Larry should look into the stands during an NBA game and see all the white faces who pay for those seats. If he wants an all black league he can go to a park in the ghetto were nobody passes, a travel is six steps and the losing team shoots the winners.
Is she a known scam artist?
“Django Unhinged”
I think the local NAACP basically admitted they need the guys money. All is forgiven.
She has gone by V. Stiviano, Maria Valdez, Monica Gallegos, and Vanessa Perez.
Jeez,, they act like this guy beat his woman, broke the law or something,,,
That’s not a scam.
The problem is that people are being judged on the basis of private conversations. This is a large scale thought-police action. Private conversations should be ignored because they were not meant for your ears. So he should be asked “is this your position” and if he were to say no, the investigation should be finished. There is no one who wants to be judged on the basis of private conversations and we should not be in the habit of turning every taped message into a human sacrifice.
We are becoming a nation of informants, party apparatchiks, and dense arrogant bureaucrats who are given power over our lives. We are becoming the Soviet Union. We are now casting people out based on private conversations when someone informs on them! It is a scary place to be.
Look at the IRS - effectively becoming a secret police, working to destroy political opponents of Barack Obama, and very happy to do it. They brag about it on Facebook! It was an impeachable offense under Nixon, but now, not so much.
Viagra- old man’s Kryptonite!
By all accounts (well before this one story, even), Sterling is a crotchety old a**hole, who seems to be proud of being a crotchety old a**hole. He doesn't much care what anyone thinks of him - heck, he's probably happy to be getting all of the attention he's gotten over the past few days (until it started costing him sponsorships, at least)
Good point. Most people with four separate known aliases are real straight shooters.
