I remember a previous incident -
“shut up down there, you water buffaloes” - got a couple of students expelled for racial slurs. - AFAIK
The “water buffalo” incident was at Penn State, I think, and involved just one student, an Israeli. There was an uproar but I don’t think he was actually expelled. Apparently he was translating a Modern Hebrew slang expression that roughly meant “stupid people,” but because the people making the racket were black, he was accused of racism.
