AT 243 PM CDT...TRAINED WEATHER SPOTTERS REPORTED A TORNADO. THIS TORNADO WAS LOCATED NEAR BISSELL...OR NEAR TUPELO...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 50 MPH.

NWS confirmed large violent tornado on the ground in Richland MS (just south of Jackson). Heavily populated area there. Lots of neighborhoods and suburbs.
WLBT radar took direct hit from lightening so that’s gone for now.

2 walls down, 3rd wall dangerous. Windows out, cars stacked and rolled in parking lot.
UMC (University Medical Center) hospital (teaching hospital in Jackson) sending triage and emergency response teams there. Oktibbeha County Hospital (Starkville, 30m N) taking patients/wounded and has activated disaster response.
