I'm old enough to remember when Earl Butz, who was a pretty decent Secretary of Agriculture, got ridden out of town on a rail for telling an off-color joke which quoted a turn-of-the-century politician.

Handy mnemonic to avoid spelling confusion between "loose" and "lose": Loose shoes, lose job.

Not one empty suit nor empty skirt in the media would print or repeat the joke which was supposed to be so offensive so we could judge for ourselves.

Is this the case here?

Well, thanks for the source and I gave it a listen. Sterling sounds like your typical old guy who doesn't want his GF acting like she is sleeping around or even banging everybody else. By the time the Larry Bird question is thrown at him, he's so upset by her race baiting that he doesn't even answer it, so I can't be sure. Is he old-fashioned in today's PC environment? For sure. A little bit racist? Maybe. Did he utter any racial epitaph? Never.
