It’s OK — Sterling is a Democrat.

Remember this important fact..if the girlfriend had posted a picture of her with let’s say, Ted Cruz and Sterling had gone on a GOP laced rant, the media would have applauded him..or if he had gone on a Jew spewing hate rant, same reaction, actually there would have been NO reaction..not defending Sterling, but he said this on a recording to a woman he is in litigation with, people say stupid things when they are angry, Sterling is a douche bag, but the overreaction to this is somewhat comical

I’ve never heard of this guy but what I see is old, rich guy - has young, hot, likely money-grubbing girlfriend, who ironically also happens to be part black and hispanic.

He doesn’t like her hanging out with the brothers in public.

In my view, he knows her nature, and is afraid of being cuckholded.

That is the source of his fears - and his comments.

Eh. The guy said he didn’t like black people. It’s not the end of the world but I can understand why black people would be a angry at him. If I heard someone didn’t like white folks (like a certain president) that wouldn’t make me happy.

The dude is a huge Democrat that’s been awarded by the NAACP so maybe it’ll raise a few eyebrows with blacks that the Dems don’t all like them even though they use them.

I wonder how many others in the NBA can have their private telephone calls recorded and pass this new litmus test? If expressing you personal views in private can be used to destroy you, then we are well on our way to a police state.

Indeed, I am not supposed to be offended when liberals call me or those of my ideological bent "teabaggers" even though that is akin to calling me a C*******R.

I am though giving a damn what anyone says that offends any of the protected classes.

Although not addressing this case, Mark Steyn wrote a piece, How Now White Cowman? that covers what is happening to Sterling.

I'm not sure terms like "left" or "right" are very useful here: Communism is assumed to be "left-wing" and Nazism "right-wing", and my former colleague Jonah Goldberg has written an entire book on that, named for a coinage of H G Wells': "liberal fascism". But on the matter of "tolerant" "centrist" fascism: In the Twentieth Century, a nation of great beauty and culture embraced Fascism, and a backward peasant society embraced Communism, and the most evolved civilization in Europe embraced Nazism. And observers still wonder why the great anglophone democracies were almost alone in not going down this path. I think the reason's simpler than it seems: No one - Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Mao, Franco - had devised a form of totalitarianism appealing enough to seduce them. Now they have. As the Bundy example illustrates, a free people will cheerfully abandon bedrock principles like equality before the law if state power is being used to torment a racist or a homophobe or someone whose very presence offends against the citizenry's sense of its own virtue. Whether or not this is a middle-of-the-road fascism, it's certainly a very flattering strain: what, after all, is wrong with benign despotism in the cause of preventing "climate change" or transphobia - or ensuring that Nevada's desert tortoise has an area the size of the United Kingdom to gambol and frolic in?

I’m not offended either. Most jews in the L.A. have the same feeling, believe me. Most of my friends in the fabric district have the very same attitude towards blacks. Heck, it’s because they’re right close to Skid Row and see how blacks act vs illegals who just come to work.

Are you really sitting here defending his train of thought? His opinions here are deplorable...there isn’t any wiggle room for misinterpretation to have happened his intentions were clear.

Are we really going to rally around a racist? He has his right to his opinion but don’t be surprised when most other people make it clear they want him far away from the NBA. The league is 85% black. What moron says these things while owning a NBA team???

The dude was in his private home, presumably, or some private place. its no one else's business.

When can we start recording what Obama, Holder, Sharpton and Jesse say in private?

I agree with your right to privacy thoughts. If TMZ broke the law airing secretly recorded conversation, they should be punished.

However, I vehemently disagree with your comparison of racists to Jews.

It is wrong to hate groups of people because of their skin color or culture or religion. In any decent civilization. Judge by behavior or choice. We can hate proven racists because their behavior hurts everyone. You shouldn’t hate all Jews. It’s not the same thing.

If you illegally spied on your daughter’s new fiancé and found out he is Hispanic, is it equivalent to finding out through the same illegal spying that the fiancé is a member of the Klan?

Somebody should record those racist anti-white remarks and jokes which black rap artists, comedians, and commentators have to say in private to each other.

Oh, wait. It’s right there in public on TV and You Tube every day and nobody cares.
