“No time to shut down and recharge like I had in my childhood. Just a thought...........”

We need to start a new idea, everyone should spend at least one week in an environment with no electricity, no telephones, none of the things that electricity powers, flush toilets would be okay, that only requires a pumped water supply but none of the rest, no phones of any kind, no computers, no movies, no tv, meals cooked on a wood stove or outside on a camp fire. Books should be available to be read by daylight or by oil lamps at night. At the end of one week the average person would be astounded at what he has learned. Of course some would be unable to return to modern life again and others would simply collapse into insanity upon realizing just how far away from the real world they have strayed.
Personally I count myself very fortunate to have eight acres bordering a large creek with room for things to grow and people to walk around and have at least a little break from the mad, mad, mad world we live in. I don’t think I could survive long in the kind of beehive that much of the world lives in today.
That’s called my two weeks a year in a cabin in E. TN fishing the GSMNP and one week in North central MI fishing the Au Sable river. That plus cutting my yard, doing some woodworking in the garage and tending my garden all work to keep things in perspective.
