He’s an old man who has views that aren’t modern. Big deal. So now all the talk show people are throwing him under the bus - because they’re cowards.

I grew up with people who talked like this and they worked hard, were never on welfare and paid their taxes on time. They were frightened and resentful of inner city black men and women. Again, big deal! Their views had no impact on these people.

As far as I’m concerned, ranchers like him provided me with delicious food my whole life and I’m eternally grateful to him and all the rest of the men and women who are being pushed off the land.

That's a smart post. You have helped me sort out my own thoughts on the matter.

Cliven is an old-timer who isn't aware of the current flummeries and fake pieties.

I still don't know what kind of contracts were or were not breached by the feds, and I don't know all what missteps Cliven might have made during the past 20 years.

Nonetheless he has exposed the iron fists behind the girlish kid gloves of Obama and the entire media-bureaucratic perplex that dominates so much of this country.

As if SWAT teams of cattle- and would-be human-killers are somehow sanitized by a cantankerous old cowboy saying Negro.

If I were a conservative candidate asked about this I would say (again and again and again) that I found Cliven's comments just about on par with those of his neighbor and nemesis Harry Reid, but that Harry Reid is a man of power and wealth who is supposed to know better, particularly when speaking of his own President:

N Word? What N Word?
