“Is he a politician Snarky?”

He chose to go before a national audience. The NYT.

“Just what is it that you expect from anyone who speaks a opinion? Is there some sort of rule that he violated?”

He sounded off in a way that comes off as racist. As I pointed out and demonstrated upthread, he could have said the same thing and never mentioned race.

“Are black families better off now, today, in Detroit, New Orleans, NYC, Chicago, and Atlanta or any other large city with a large black population, then when they were slaves?”

Really? Are they better off now than when they were in forced servitude? Sorry, that doesn’t even deserve an answer. Really?

“The standards to use should regard all of the important things like family, work ethics, the drive and desire that your children have a better life than the parents did. Social structures, happiness, and general health and welfare.
The important American family things...
Are they better off now then they were then?”

Right. And that should apply to all Americans not blacks or whites or yellows or what the hell ever. But he brought race into it. That was not smart.

What he said came up as part of a larger conversation. I saw nothing in what he said that was the least bit racist. Apparently to you, steeped in political correctness or race avoidance, it is.

Is not dependence on government hand outs that has become generational, passed on from family to family, a more dishonest for of slavery? Think about it...

I know plenty about servitude, as my Grandparents immigrated from eastern Europe to escape it. Sure, the same applies to everyone, but the white and Hispanic races have not been dealt as severe a blow from government dependence...(yet)

The context was black so stick with the program here. The discussion was not about any other race. So it would have been condescending to have made the statement about everyone, but certainly more politically correct for you, i would say.
