It’s the NYT!!! How do we know it is even an accurate quote? Do they have audio or video? This is the publication that will go to no ends to push propaganda. They’ve been caught photoshopping pictures for Christs Sake. So before everyone cruxifies the man, how about some evidence beyond the discredited NY Times.

I watched the video cited below your comment. It appears the NYT quoted him as per the video. As to whether or not it is racist, that’s in the eye of the beholder. To me, he seemed to be a nice fellow, bearing no animosity towards any racial group, but concerned that the “Negroes” are not doing any better now than when they were slaves. That may be naivete, or whatever, but it is not going to get a lot of support in today’s political world.
