The state of Colorado has swung from a solidly Republican state over a decade ago to a Democratic-leaning state in recent elections. If Republicans want to take back the White House in 2016 they must appeal to nontraditional GOP voters in states like Colorado, and Rand Paul is the only candidate with potential to do so.

According to a new poll from Quinnipiac University, libertarian-leaning Sen. Rand Paul is the only potential 2016 Republican presidential candidate to lead Hillary Clinton in the battleground state of Colorado. While big GOP donors and other establishment forces have questioned Paul’s electability, opting instead to “draft” former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, In fact, not only does Paul have a statistically significant lead, but he is the only Republican candidate to have consistently held a lead over Clinton in the state.

Story at link does not say: who were the other Republican candidates in the poll and how did they fare against Hillary?

I too have noticed the hit pieces. I also expect more from the left and the GOP establishment. I am beginning to think the only person who can beat HC is Paul, assuming he doesn’t make any absurd comments.

The so called hit pieces .... I’ve been skipping them because I already dislike Rand Paul, but it seemed kinda weird that all a sudden he started spouting off like a liberal.

Anybody have a link or two so I can revisit them?

Paul is courting Establishment Big Donors. Usually they want something in return for their investments and what that something is typically isn’t good

Lots of money form the outside like Bloomberg and sorros gets spent in Colorado to sway elections. With drug legalization these low information voters will be easily convinced of whatever the propaganda says. “Voting irregularities” is the rage among demorats. A box of ballots were mailed to Broomfield county and the elections people wanted to count them. If you think you might like to move to a county you can vote there according to the rats.

Dope Smokers for Rand. Plus he appeals to some of the same homosexuals that Hillary Clinton appeals to.

I don’t want to antagonize you about Rand Paul. As a supporter, you should write him and encourage him to clarify his remarks about amnesty, life, McConnell vs Bevin, gay marriage, etc.

Even if you can say, “you need to listen more carefully...”, that isn’t the issue. Most people won’t go back and “listen more carefully.”

He needs to put out a clear position paper. I want to know. So do many others. I’m open to supporting him if these things get correctly answered. (Although Cruz will remain my favorite.)

Rand Paul is not a Bush, a Clinton, or a GOP Establishment retread.

He is not perfect and is not my first choice but he is infinitely better than what the Establishment is going to foist upon us.

The thing to look out for is how much the Republicrat/Dumbocan Party leaders and the Corporate Media attack him. If they all gang up on him then you know he is legit.

Rand Paul is suffering from the Pope Francis syndrome. Making too many confusing statements, trying to get people to like him, instead of standing up for what’s right.

I’d say to just use keyword “RandPaul”; thought it was up on the main page.

I know there’s a distaste for Senator Rand Paul in here, but I’ve maintained consistently that he is one of the few potential GOP candidates who understands the need to make inroads on the black, Hispanic, and youth votes, and in addition is making an honest effort to do just that.

Personally I think Hillary will be defeated by almost anyone the GOP runs this time around, but this poll indicates that Senator Paul could be a very formidable candidate.

Plus, I’d be extremely surprised if he didn’t try to pare the federal government down significantly if he wins and has a GOP Congress behind him.

Look, his position is very clear. He voted against the senate amnesty bill and laid out his own plan to solve the problem.

He cuts all the government benefits to illegal aliens and provides no new path to citizenship. They can apply for a green card but have to go to the back of the line.

Most illegals under his plan will self deport because he eliminates all the magnets. The plan is very detailed and you can find it online.

Now please ask your candidate to clarify this:

Cruz Tries to Claim the Middle Ground on Immigration

“The amendment that I introduced removed the path to citizenship, but it did not change the underlying work permit from the Gang of Eight,” he said during a recent visit to El Paso. Mr. Cruz also noted that he had not called for deportation or, as Mitt Romney famously advocated, self-deportation.

“I have said many times that I want to see common-sense immigration reform pass,” he said.

An open borders/amnesty libertarian will NEVER get the Republican nomination. It’s that simple.
“Does Rand Paul support amnesty? Yes.” http://www.frontpagemag.com/2013/dgreenfield/does-rand-paul-support-amnesty-yes-he-does/

Hillary Clinton does not need Colorado to get to 270 electoral votes. These 14 states plus D.C., won by Obama in 2012 could put her in the Oval Office like Monica Lewinsky.
Primarily because of the increase in the Latino share of the electorate, the Electoral College is currently rigged to favor the Democrats.
California: 55 Electoral votes (60% Obama in 2012)
New York: 29 (63% Obama)
Florida: 29 (50% Obama)
Illinois: 20 (58% Obama)
Pennsylvania: 20 (52% Obama)
Ohio: 18 (51% Obama)
Michigan: 16 (54% Obama)
New Jersey: 14 (58% Obama)
Virginia: 13 (51% Obama)
Washington: 12 (53% Obama)
Massachusetts: 11 (61% Obama)
Maryland: 10 (62% Obama)
Minnesota: 10 (53% Obama)
Wisconsin: 10 (53% Obama)
District of Columbia: 3 (91% Obama)
Total: 270 by 14 states & D.C. There are also other combinations of blue states that would get her there.

I don’t think any plan that offers some kind of card or status and denies access to citizenship is going to hold up in court when it’s challenged.

They will determine that legally blocking an inhabitant from citizenship while permitting him to labor is tantamount to serfdom/slavery and they’ll overturn it.

That’s both Paul’s and Cruz’s plans.

The ONLY plan I’ll listen to is a simple one point plan: (1) Total control of borders, coasts, visas.

That alone will fix the immigration problem.
