Republicans including possible 2016 candidate Rand Paul -- are scrambling to distance themselves from defiant Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy after he made startling comments about slavery and African-Americans in a New York Times article published Wednesday night.
From the Times Adam Nagourney:
I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro, he said. Mr. Bundy recalled driving past a public-housing project in North Las Vegas, and in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids and there is always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch they didnt have nothing to do. They didnt have nothing for their kids to do. They didnt have nothing for their young girls to do.
And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do? he asked. They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And Ive often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didnt get no more freedom. They got less freedom.
Bundy had previously drawn support from some GOP lawmakers for his clash with the Bureau of Land Management.

In statements after Bundys remarks, both Paul and Heller condemned his comments.
"His remarks on race are offensive and I wholeheartedly disagree with him, said Paul.
And a spokesman for Heller told the Times that the senator completely disagrees with Mr. Bundys appalling and racist statements, and condemns them in the most strenuous way.

I just did a YouTube and Google check and there is NO recording of Cliven Bundy saying any of the things quoted in the NYT article. The Bundy Ranch had tons of people there last Saturday because of the barbeque and yet we are expected to believe that none of them recorded what Bundy SUPPOSEDLY said?
But a New York Times story published last month about the strategy puts a decidedly different spin on it. Democrats say the strategy of spotlighting the Koch brothers activities is politically shrewd, the story says. The majority leader [Reid] was particularly struck by a presentation during a recent Senate Democratic retreat, which emphasized that one of the best ways to draw an effective contrast is to pick a villain, one of his aides said. And by scolding the Koch brothers, Mr. Reid is trying to draw them out, both to raise their public profile, and also to help rally the Democratic base. The approach stems, in part, from Democratic-funded research showing that many voters believe the political system is rigged in favor of the super rich.
PICK A VILLAIN. ITS HOW THEY DEMS ROLL.
YAWN! Hundreds of people at the Bundy Ranch last Saturday with at least an equal number of recording devices yet thus far NO RECORDING of the statements claimed by the NYT have been produced.
I have a weird feeling that Adam Nagourney of the NYT will claim he heard the Bundy “statements” from another source. Remember, NO RECORDINGS have been produced.
Well lets get together and investigate Adam Nagourney shall we?
Is there any recording of ANYTHING he said on Saturday?
Actually, it's not clear he said ANYTHING.
This is reported by a super-hack bottom-feeder 'reporter' who hears that someone overheard this.
The Dems, MSM and RINOS are still holding back on their secret weapon: the homophobe card. Soon, they’ll produce some guy who overheard Bundy in 1972 using the word “fag”.
By the end of this, it will be:
"I have it on good second-hand authority that the friend of an uncle of a professor of a college where my aunt's child went heard it on the radio that the mother of a man who read it on the internet heard that some guy was talking about, on the subway, that he heard his barber met a prostitute who saw a police report about a poster about this girl who saw on TV that three guys in a bar were talking about a politician who mentioned in a press conference that he heard his father had mentioned that he saw read some magazine that said that Kevin Bacon had overheard from a news anchor that four girls in an elementary school mentioned that their parents had heard on their CB radio that a trucker had saw some guy who said that he had a friend who knew a roomate of his who had a girlfriend that overheard at a Rush concert that Clive Bundy is a racist."
Okay you adorable smartass, you are now my hero.
You are so right. This hack goes back years sucking ole Harry’s boot straps.
Can someone can ask Bill Mahr if any New York Times reporters are in that Gay Mafia he is always talking about?
Could you fix the link to that video? please.
So, Lil Paulie Pooh disagrees with history and reality?
His Loosertarian nature is showing.
I know you believe everything you say but you’re dead wrong. Just watch what happens to this guy, then tell new the race card is dead. You need to get out more.

No its dead. it died with a Black Tyrant in office and the beat whitey games. Look at the state of AA...
As far as what happens to him, nothing will change. Did you notice its the same people lining up against him as before? This is the 3rd failed smear tactic. first was the freeloader, 2nd was the war on women, now its the race card. All from the same liberals and rhinos who hate that the people stood up to Tyranny.
>>Where he is dead wrong is his belief that slaves had a family life. <<
Really? Then perhaps you’ll explain why so many of them returned to the plantation life under their former owners, after the War?
Excellent there are thinking people still on the FR. A liberal cries wolf again and little boys and girls run.
