GOP Scrambles To Condemn Rancher's Remarks on Race

Republicans – including possible 2016 candidate Rand Paul -- are scrambling to distance themselves from defiant Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy after he made startling comments about slavery and African-Americans in a New York Times article published Wednesday night.

From the Times’ Adam Nagourney:

“I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro,” he said. Mr. Bundy recalled driving past a public-housing project in North Las Vegas, “and in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids — and there is always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch — they didn’t have nothing to do. They didn’t have nothing for their kids to do. They didn’t have nothing for their young girls to do.

“And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?” he asked. “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”

Bundy had previously drawn support from some GOP lawmakers for his clash with the Bureau of Land Management.

[snip]

In statements after Bundy’s remarks, both Paul and Heller condemned his comments.

"His remarks on race are offensive and I wholeheartedly disagree with him,” said Paul.

And a spokesman for Heller told the Times that the senator “completely disagrees with Mr. Bundy’s appalling and racist statements, and condemns them in the most strenuous way.”

Proof he said what was claimed? Proof that if he said it it was wrong? Until then, Who gives a dam what a Rino says? Americans do not play the Waco smear game anymore. The race card is dead. Have the Big Govt. types try another smear tactic - they failed on the war-on-women one are now trying the race-card one and its failing too.

I'm still not seeing the big deal here. If someone calls me caucasian I don't bat an eye at it. Big whoop. The only ones that will really be offended are the ones running for cover because "ooooooh, a white guy used the word negro", only the "Just-us" Brothers can use that term; it's reserved.Wasn't altogether too long ago ol Jesse Jackson was caught on tape wanting to "cut that niggers balls off" in respect to obama. Or the L.A. Times referring to zero as the magic negro. It's selective "outrage".

Why do you keep using the term “overheard” (in quotes, no less)?

Because “they have played the race card so much they have worn the tits off the Queen.”

Sorry don’t know who the quote belongs to.

You are right. It is quite clear that he was saying the War on Poverty has built a life for Blacks that is worse than slavery. The question he is asking is rhetorical.

To deny what has happened to blacks is to deny reality.

Now the GOP will let the media and the Democrats (but I repeat myself) dictate the terms of discussion.

Sissies.

Clive Bundy basically repeated what Daniel Patrick Moynihan said....but Moynihan was not condemned. He was a Democrat senator from New York.

The Negro Family: The Case For National Action (the 1965 Moynihan Report) was written by Assistant Secretary of Labor[1] Daniel Patrick Moynihan, a sociologist and later U.S. Senator. It focused on the deep roots of black poverty in America and concluded controversially that the relative absence of nuclear families (those having both a father and mother present) would greatly hinder further progress toward economic and political equality.

Why do you keep using the term “overheard” (in quotes, no less)?

HERE is why:

The New York Times has overheard Cliven Bundy—the Nevada rancher who, instead of paying decades of overdue grazing fees, met the Bureau of Land management with guns and a small militia—saying this:

According to the book Representing: Hip hop culture and the production of black cinema by S. Craig Watkins:

The report concluded that the structure of family life in the black community constituted a ‘tangle of pathology ... capable of perpetuating itself without assistance from the white world,’ and that ‘at the heart of the deterioration of the fabric of Negro society is the deterioration of the Negro family. It is the fundamental source of the weakness of the Negro community at the present time.’ Further, the report argued that the matriarchal structure of black culture weakened the ability of black men to function as authority figures. This particular notion of black familial life has become a widespread, if not dominant, paradigm for comprehending the social and economic disintegration of late twentieth-century black urban life. (pp. 218–219)

Moynihan generally concluded in the report: “The steady expansion of welfare programs can be taken as a measure of the steady disintegration of the Negro family structure over the past generation in the United States

Is the recent bloody Cattle Massacre at Nevada Cattle Rancher Bundy’s Pioneer Corral damaging the Democrat Party in eyes and words of the Democrat Left Stream Media?

To put this latest Medieval “Kill for Sport” event in historical context, all one has to do is remember that the Democrat Party was the Founding Party of the KKK.

Is the modern day equivalent of the KKK the Bureau of Feudal Land Management, (BFLM) ?

If so, then Feudal Lord Reid would then be “The Grand Dragon of the BFLM.”

Feudal Lord Reid’s Rustlers are hired guns, who are furious but not fast, which also applies to their bitter, vengeful, senile, multimillionaire Leader: Feudal Lord Reid.

With the past Democrat-based KKK, and now the present Democrat-controlled BFLM, ethics be damned, as abject fear is the main goal of both of these ethically Medieval Outlaw Gangs, past and present.

“Ethics” will be justified later by Liberals who will write the “revised” PC History of these times, past and present; of powerful men with outlaw hatred toward free people in America, Black or White, poor or rich.

The Jackboot Heel of Democat Tyranny is now upon us, AGAIN !

MOVE ON!
FORWARD!

Both Occupy Wall Street and Reid’s Rustlers destroyed private property and private jobs.

Both Occupy Wall Street and Reid’s Rustlers were financially supported, (indirectly and directly, respectively), by the Democrat Obama Administration.

Both Occupy Wall Street and Reid’s Rustlers were publicly encouraged by the Democrat Obama Administration, and the Democrat Left Stream Media.

We all know what they are trying to provoke with this bullsh** New York times overheard lie. Since when did the New York Times report anything correct without bias and agenda. Bet Harry owns some NYT stock.

The other ridiculous thing is that the NYT reporter leaves the impression that hardly anyone was at the Saturday 4/19/14 press conference at the Bundy Ranch. Actually the place was overrun with people because they had a barbeque there that day. HERE is a VIDEO of that "lonely" event.

Yes, but what basis did the National Journal guy have for using the term “overheard”? It wasn’t in the original Times article - that article just said that Bundy said it at a press conference.
