AMSTERDAM (AP) -- The Dutch defense department says several NATO member countries scrambled jets Wednesday afternoon after a pair of Russian bomber planes approached their airspace over the North Sea.

Flying an airplane in international airspace?

Of course the Russkis are perfectly within their rights to fly their 60 year-old TU-95s through international airspace to vintage aircraft shows whenever they feel like it. They may also have been ferrying the geriatric crews to Sam's Club for new hearing aids

However, they may have violated the EU's strict noise pollution controls.

As far as military threat to our carriers goes, the Bear need not leave Russki or other friendly airspace to launch its long range nuclear AS ship-killer missiles.

Yo, a 500knt turboprop bomber with a 15,000 mile range. I want one.

Oddly enough, it was recently reported that the Ukraine would be selling one on Ebay
