Georgia insurers received more than 220,000 applications for health coverage in the Affordable Care Acts exchange as of the official federal deadline of March 31, state officials said Wednesday.
Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens, though, said premiums have been received for only 107,581 of those policies, which cover 149,465 people.
Many Georgians completed the application process by the deadline, but have yet to pay for the coverage, Hudgens said in a statement Wednesday.
Half? Half? Sure, the nonpayment rates will be a lot lower in other places. But this indicates how much skepticism is warranted for the administrations much-touted enrollment figures.
When Progressives insist that were wrong and Obamacare is more popular than it seems, theyll point to the enrollment numbers. They dismiss the national surveys, but theres some indication that Obamacares meager support in the polls is actually worse than we think, because its being artificially boosted by respondents that are eager to declare the whole thing a success, no matter how their state exchange is actually performing. . .

It must be working. Wow. I always complain about service at the Post Office, and wondered what a mess when these folks run Health Care. Maybe we´ve got some smooth sailing ahead. Let´s see. Time will tell. I think there is a lot of reputations at stake.... Wow, it´s working....
FUBAR
Wait ‘til they find out what they have purchased. Then .....
Assuming GA used the HealthCare.gov website, 200K people are now eligible for identity theft.
if 8 million people have enrolled, how many are either dead voters, park benches and cartoon characters?
“The check is in the mail. No, really!”
First they find out their doctor's not in the network. Then when finally finding a doctor that will treat them he's 40 miles away. Then at the doctor's office they discover they must spend $6,000 on visits and meds before their policy kicks in. So even if they're getting a 100 percent subsidy they're screwed. Next stop—the local emergency room.

“The unemployment rate dropped 2.4% last month just a mere 30 days before the midterm elections”.

Are they all from Atlanta?
The contract was initially voted down so it looked like a major grocery strike might be on offer but a second vote passed the agreement.
Dont the low income applicants who have their premiums subsidized by the tax payer have to pay anything up front? Are they considered in these numbers?
Payment deadline for the extended enrollment period is Friday.
The stats I saw for California showed 50% were medicaid (free to the user) and 80% of the rest were receiving subsidies.
Subsidy folks supposedly do pay their part of the premium monthly.
220,000 people? Really a success..
What is that? The population of the minority neighborhoods of Atlanta?
And half again, the third month?
Can you say “Bailout”? I knew you could.
The reality is that most have a $400 to $750 monthly payment, and a $5000 to $6000 a year deductible. You might have been peppy doing all the computer stuff....but when you analyze the numbers and try to budget this for a whole year, it’s just not that practical. A guy making $50,000 just doesn’t have that much cash around to throw. So you make decisions...new car this year, or waste $4800 on health insurance?
[What happens when half of those who paid don’t pay their second month? And half again, the third month?]
What will be left is a small pool of those who suffer from chronic illness.
