Comes a point when the gov’t decides the cost of not enforcing now will be exceeded by those who take encouragement to likewise not obey. Yeah, $3m to enforce now is greater than $1m allegedly owed, but if they don’t then others will also disobey to cumulative costs orders of magnitude greater.
Alas, enforcing now will likewise inspire the opposition: take down Bundy now, and see far more tyrant ensue.
Time’s up. Like it or not, people are moving to light a fuse.
