Fresh violence has erupted in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, between police and opponents of President Nicolas Maduro.
Masked protestors burned effigies of the president after a rally called "Resurrection of Democracy".
Police responded to petrol bombs in the Chacao district with tear gas and water cannon.....
On Sunday the rally started with a "Via Crucis" march, mirroring Jesus's walk to crucifixion.
"We're staying in the street until we get our country back," student leader Djamil Jassir, 22. told Reuters news agency.
Another protestor, Naybeth Ramirez, said: "There are many who have already died and it's for them that we're here. They're not going to have an Easter again, nor carnival."
Later, several hundred protestors set up barricades in Chacao, in the east of the capital, changing "Liberty" and throwing petrol bombs.....
Worker’s paradises just aren’t what they used to be, I guess.
They should send in Sean Penn to talk to them and tell them how good they have it...
The people in the streets know they are losing everything they had, everything they have now and everything they could have in the future.
Ooh, ooh! Can I watch?
Yep and that’s where we are headed if these yahoos don’t wake the heck up.
It would be divine, yes? hahahaha!
We’re really close to this. Don’t let them take our guns before it happens.
I like all the government’s new AK-74’s. I wonder where they got those. Maduro is out of office by June. Dead or in Russia.
The folks in Venezuela are getting desperate now and perhaps the regime drove them there to create the situation that Maduro cam blame on the opposition.
But the food, medical supplies, diapers and TP are all running out and the truth is coming home just like it did in all countries that have gone Communist since Russia in 1918.
That’s one thing that would change the dynamics in Venezuela right now.
An armed opposition could very well be a victorious opposition.
Notice the leftist spin — not “protests”, but violence. Jihadists blow themselves up and kill 20 people, now THERE’S a protestor.
Hard to feel sorry for these people.
they voted for it.
Well golly! Didnt Marx tell us that it would be paradise.
Imagine that, they Lied just to attain power.
Good to see Christian influences at the forefront of the anti-government rallies. May God be with you.
Not so certain that they voted for it. I remember that there were lots of rigged elections during Hugo Chavez's regime. Of course, Jimmy Carter and Sean Penn, would deny this. But, the religious faction of the Venezuelan population has always opposed the Chavez Communists.
The words you use are the same words that people threw at all the Germans when Hitler took over with is goons and Brown Shirts. It is easy to criticize folks who are under the thumbs of totalitarian dictators. OYOH, in the USA - we ought to know better; If it were not for the leftist press in our country, the Democrats would not win any elections. But, the atheistic intelligent at our colleges and universities are brainwashing all out young people, and they have taken over nearly every segment of our society.
Do you feel sorry for America, because “we voted for it”????
No. I don’t feel sorry for Americans.
We voted for it too.
I’m a big believer that people should get what they want.
Maybe one day people will be smart enough to learn. But I’m not holding my breath.
I could have told you what was coming the first time Hugo was elected (and the elections were still kinda free).
I could have told you what was coming the first time Hitler was elected (and the elections were still kinda free).
I could have told you what was coming the first time Obama was elected (and the elections were still kinda free).
If a complete dumbass like me can look at this and figure out what is going to happen next, surely the great geniuses who sit on their ass and talk down to me every time one of these dictators appears should be able to make a semi accurate prediction of what is going to happen next.
You voted for it Venezuela:
You voted for it Germany:
You voted for it America:
Now you can all shut the Hell up!
