MOSCOW, April 21. /ITAR-TASS/. The man who earlier on Monday seized a subsidiary of Bank Zapadny in Belgorod, a city located 700 kilometers south of Moscow, has been detained, according to the press service of Russia's Interior Ministry.
The man will get back his 23 million rubles (about $639,000) from his bank account, head of regional police headquarters Viktor Pesterev has told ITAR-TASS.
The man has been detained, the press center of the Russian Interior Ministry reports.
Pesterev, who conducted negotiations with the man, explained that he had tried to withdraw his money on Sunday, but could not do so because of bank staffers sluggishness, while on Monday the banks license was revoked.
Pesterev said all his demands would be met, adding that there had been no hostage-taking at the bank [where there had been only three staffers], and the man voluntarily surrendered his gun.
An investigation brigade is working at the site of the incident.
