To: Intolerant in NJ

(Sound of a dog barking). Then a young boy’s voice says, “That’s my dog “Tighe.” He lives in shoe. I’m Buster Brown. Look for me in there, too!”

I may not remember what I had for breakfast today, but I remember those old radio programs as though it were yesterday.

And Froggy in his gravelly voice used to repeat himself all the time, as in “I’m going to sing my song now, I will I will” - I forgot to include “The Billie Burke Program” and ‘Land of the Lost” in the list of Saturday morning programs - I was listening in the Philly suburbs, not too far from where you were in south central Pennsylvania - I actually used to make up excuses to get out of going when friends would call up wanting me to “come over and play” so that I could spend Saturday mornings curled up in front of the old Sears Silverton radio console listening to those shows - I’ve found such contentment only rarely since.....
