IMO, we are closer to Nuclear Holocaust these days than ever during the Cold War.

Not in my opinion, in my opinion the scariest moment of the Cold war was the period of 1984 and 85, if you guys didn't move then, then you would lose a window of opportunity that you would not regain for at least a generation.

Since your Empire collapsed, that threat is gone for a long time.
