Michelle Obama should not receive a salary as First Lady according to Laura Bush, who could definitely be said to be an expert on the subject. But these comments happen to stray into the political mine field of income inequality and the gender pay gap.
In a related report by The Inquisitr, Michelle Obamas school lunch portions have been criticized heavily by students who are actually forced to eat her school cafeteria plans.
In recent times, Barack and Michelle Obama have spoken about their plans for ending income inequality in America. The White House also came under fire when it was discovered that income inequality is worse under President Obama than it was under President George W Bush. Regardless, while speaking in public President Obama once commented on the pay of the First Lady or, rather, the lack thereof:
I want to make sure that when shes working shes getting paid the same as men. I gotta say that First Ladies right now dont [get paid], even though thats a tough job!
Speaking on the subject of income inequality between men and women, former First Lady Laura Bush has plenty to say on the subject. Although she admits the American public sees the first lady in very glamorous circumstance she also says the title of First Lady should not come with an automatic salary just because her husband happened to become President.
But Laura also says the same rules should apply for the first woman President of the United States. Bush says the First Gentleman would need to learn to stand back and be quiet. She also raised the prospect of whether a First Gentleman would give up his day job if his wife were to become President. She says, Thats what well have to come to terms with. Certainly a first gentleman might continue to work at whatever he did. This also raises the question of whether a First Gentleman should receive a salary.
At one point, Democrats raised the prospect of a future Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama presidential campaign ticket in 2016. Even today its claimed Clinton has the best chance for any woman to win, so if that Democratic dream, and Republican nightmare, were to ever happen then youd have the interesting situations of having Bill Clinton as First Gentleman.
Do you think Michelle Obama should be paid for her position as First Lady?
You’re right.
He pay is zero and her benefits are in the hundreds of millions AND TAX FREE!
She should not be drawing a salary. Unfortunately, the Obama’s are intending to milk the system for everything possible as long as they can, so she draws a salary.
There’s a lot to be said for just getting expenses.
She should be paid like a cheap, lousy whore.
If you figure each of her “staff” costs us probably 150 grand salary & benefits, that’s 3.6 million a year!
Now that's just insulting........................to cheap, lousy whores! Because even they are productive.
Big Moochie should have to pay us for all the damage she has done to the school lunch program and the tens of millions of dollars she has sucked up on her endless vacations.
I hope the Democrats are proud of themselves.
No they don't. The comments don't have anything to do with income inequality and the gender pay gap. What an ignorant, cheap political swipe. And what a lazy editor, too!
We really have gone around the bend. For the 2,487,234th time with these two.
First Gentleman? That’s no gentleman, that’s Bill Clinton!
LMMFAO!
I still claim that MooseShell needs to pay for and obtain a BLM Grazing License for her caloric intake at the White House.
She was not elected to do a damn thing.
Maybe they feel like they are sticking to white tax payers, so they rub it in our faces.
I want to make sure that when shes working shes getting paid the same as men. I gotta say that First Ladies right now dont [get paid], even though thats a tough job!"
Odds on finding out, post-Obama Administration, Michelle My Belle walked away from the White House with a much larger bank account than she had when she walked in? This is just a preemptive strike to justify the future discovery of the pilfering.
