A New Muslim Renaissance is Here
TIME ^ | April 16, 2014 | by Rabia Chaudry

History is witness to a time past when the Islamic civilization produced globally unparallelled architecture, literature, science, philosophy, theological discourse, and cultural influences – influences so strong it made European nobles want to dress like Muslims. Critics of Islam and Muslims scoff at this romanticism, asserting that Muslims have not produced anything great since the Middle Ages and most likely will never again. The inherent bigotry and even fallacy of that argument aside, for those critics I have to say, look out, a new Muslim renaissance is upon us.

In the midst of growing anti-Muslim sentiment in the US since 9/11, or perhaps thanks to it, this generation of Muslims is abandoning the traditional professions expected from immigrant parents (doctors, engineers, business people) and entering fields we all once thought were closed to us. The last decade has seen a steady and sure emergence of American Muslims as artists, writers, performers, activists, media personalities and intellectuals (on a global scale Muslims rank as top intellectuals). Inside the DC beltway you see evidence of this shift as well. Young American Muslims are working in national security, public diplomacy, foreign policy, politics – we have our share of hacks and wonks now too.

To Bert:

Islam forbids change, as it is locked into the mindset of MadMo and the Seventh Century.

The Land of Islam, where small livestock is nervous.

When you have a culture whose god is unreasonable how can they embrace reason?

There’s this saying by an Arab philosopher:

Persia thrived for 1000 years without the Arabs, but the Arabs cannot live a day without the Persians.

Resource abundance is a destructive status. Better is resource scarcity. The latter leads to invention and innovation, while the former leads to waste and status quo atrophy.

I was just reading a thread on a sci fi forum about a possible novel being written about a certain type of a “Rise of the machines” where a particular small nation builds a 3D manufacturing plant that then builds millions of stealthy drones, they then have a specific program to seek out any praying Muslim globally.

The drones have cloaking ability with all skin pixels tech, very hard to spot. Muslims start dropping like flies under a laser beam literally globally, Islam is forced to go deep underground. eventually after several years Islam dies until a super rich Saudi firm consider a deep space voyage for Islamic immigration to a far distant planet.

Once the crude dries up....

Well Jack, the crude may dry up in a millenium or two, but what is going to send the Saudis' slaves (oops, guest workers) eventually a-packing is the growth of the Saudi population. Thanks to polygamy and instant divorce and remarriage it is no trick at all to meet Saudis with upwards of 50 children!

The population has quintupled since the 1950's and because of the intense and once-lavish welfare benefits offered Saudi nationals (as opposed to the '0' benefits offered to the "guest workers who are NEVER offered citizenship) the Saudis are actually hurting for ready money to keep their country going. Please, don't laugh! Eventually, the Saudis themselves are going to have to really ....GASP! .... work. Yes! Pick up their own garbage, dry-clean their own clothes, flip their own burgers, fry their own chicken. As of right now, the worthy oriental gentlemen spend their days flitting from fast-food emporium to mosque to various wives' houses and back again, not forgetting to stop by the neighborhood welfare and office to divorce one or two cousins, marry another and her sister, pick up some cash, a sack of rice, and maybe a new white Toyota pick-up truck.

This worked kind of OK when there were 4-5 million worthy oriental gentlemen. In those balmy days, if a Saudi national coughed on the street, he might well wake up in a hospital in Vienna. No more, Achmed baby! Now that there are 35 million of'em and growing, it's not so hot. BTW, don't expect the royals, princes, sheiks, tribal leaders, etc. to actually fork over any of their dough.

Let us also pray tonight for the House of Saud. As comically inept and sleazy as these oily MFs are, they are wonderful, saintly even, compared to what might be next if they and their wack-o system ever collapse.
