“”They haven’t fed us for three days on our base. They’re feeding us here. Who do you think we are going to fight for?,” he said.”
Meanwhile, the planeloads of American MRE’s are being sold on the Internet, and by vendors on the streets of Kiev.
A perfect example of the corruption that is tearing Ukraine apart.
“Israel and Russia are getting along. Have the neocons noticed?”

One side has the will, military power and leadership; the other has rhetoric.
Its a civil war. If Russia wants to hang that albatross around their own necks, so be it.

****
Not rhetoric alone, but the politically correct position on the LGBT community and One World Order. And spiffy yellow armbands.
And people laughed about the protests led by babushkas
If true, the Ukrainian military is making the ARVN look like a model of probity.
Have the Ukers put up even one fight yet, other than pushing and shoving and name-calling? Evidently they have nothing worth fighting and dying for?
Sounds like they want NATO to do their fighting for them.
I think we sent the MREs because they could be termed “non-lethal” assistance. Opinions vary on that.
It would be interesting to find out how many of these people are ethnic Russians. During Yugoslavia’s wars of partition, the army broke up into its ethnic components almost from the start. Slovenes, Croats and Bosnians quickly hived away into the Territorial Defense units (i.e. their equivalent of National Guard units), bringing their equipment and ammo with them, or remained as agents-in-place in the Yugoslav People’s Army. It may be necessary for Ukraine to disarm and demobilize the ethnic Russians currently in the its military.
Another difficulty lies with Ukrainian soldiers who are married to ethnic Russians, and therefore susceptible to being suborned.

As the events have proven, the only reliable forces the regime can count on to fight are about 350-500 Right Sector thugs, and a single Special Police unit from Lvov.
And they dare not send the Right Sector militia far from Kiev, lest things get out of hand there again.
Bottom line is that the people don’t want a fight, and are trying to avoid it. Meanwhile, Right Sector/Svoboda is screaming for blood, pushed on by DC.
Pretty sad state of affairs, and much of it is the fault of our government.

They burned some cops alive early on, and then the putschists killed one of their own. Sort of a Himmler v. Rohm ex-lovers spat I assume. Dead guy’s supporters put on masks and broke windows in Kiev.

Ukraine definitely belongs in the EU.
The Maidan regime can rely only on Western Ukrainian army units who would be fighting in hostile territory. The point is it can’t enforce its sovereignty. And its understandable why officers and soldiers from Dnipropetrovsk are unwilling to fight and die for them.
Ethnic Ukrainians in the East speak Russian and are not overly fond of Kiev. The region has an overall ethnic Ukrainian majority but every one speaks and understands Russian. Its a world away from Ukrainian-speaking Lvov, the center of the Maidan.
Slovenes, Croats and Bosnians all speak Serbian. But they broke away from a Serb-dominated Yugoslavia, anyway. Plenty of ethnic Czechs spoke German, but they identified with Czechoslovakia rather than Austria.
Yup, them people who get along with one another are the real reason people can't get along with one another and they're obvious threat to the "leadership". A "leadership" who couldn't wait on elections but now want others to wait on elections and who said the people they threw out were imposing their will by force but who now freak out because they can't impose their will by force.
You do realize you're claiming the Keystone Cops are the rightful rulers of the Ukraine, don't you?
