Spain’s team, like Germany’s, is still young enough; they were beaten by Brazil in Brazil. As an American that watched the US dismantle Portugal in World Cup play, I don’t see them having a chance; like the US, they’ll be lucky to advance from the first round.

Time will tell.

Portugal is the third ranked team in the world after Spain and Germany. They have arguably the best player in the world in Cristiano Ronaldo. He is the 2013 FIFA world player of the year.

When was that game played? 2002?

“Portugal is the third ranked team in the world after Spain and Germany.”

Yes, and the US was ranked fifth within the last few years (I guess we can dominate Haiti and Canada). Ronaldo played in a World Cup already; one player does not a winning team make. Most African teams also have at least one star; the only people I know mentioning Portugal are Portuguese. Are you Portuguese?

Anyway, like I said: Only time will tell.
