I see where you are going, but most people are not that sophisticated.

They need symbols. Bundy, even if flawed (not saying he is, because I read so many conflicting opinions), seems to be a symbol that is readily understood by those who would rather watch sports on TV than study the Consitution, and our loss of freedoms.

Sorry about the run-on sentence. Too tired to do proper editing.

The symbol isn’t Bundy. Bundy’s a loser. The cause cannot be Bundy or we lose. That’s my point.

The cause is American liberty and there are literally thousands of families out there, who individually and in the aggregate, that make a great symbol. That’s the way to go here.

Fine, Bundy sparked something, but sticking with him is a ride to oblivion. It’s quite literally going backwards. His cause is not just. He’s in the wrong, demonstrably, and judge after judge has shown that. Where are all our great conservative/libertarian legal scholars? If he were right, they’d be crawling all over themselves to get this case.

Bundy’s wrong. He’s the wrong guy and the wrong symbol. The Civil Rights Movement picked very good symbols. Rosa Parks was a law abiding person. Bundy’s not and hasn’t been for 20 years. Use him and we lose.

Go out and get those thousands who are good symbols. They exist. This cause is in the news, pound on it. The abuse is real and there real, sympathetic heroes out there.
