There are over 2 billion people in India and China alone. More of them are driving each year. There may be hundreds of millions of new drivers in quite a few countries during the years to come. And despite rhetoric to the contrary, manufacturing production continues to increase each year in China and other developing countries--activities that also require oil. The U.S.A. produces less than half of the oil consumed by the U.S.A.
