The replacement of Kathleen Sebelius by Sylvia Mathews Burwell as the Secretary of Health and Human Services has been portrayed by the legacy news media as a new lease on life for Obamacare. The party line is that Sebelius was mortally wounded by GOP exploitation of a single uncharacteristic mistakethe botched rollout of Healthcare.govwhile Burwell is a brilliant Beltway veteran unsullied by controversy and possessing the very administrative skills needed to save Obamas signature domestic achievement.
This tale fails to conform to the facts, however
The vessel is taking on water at an alarming rate, and Sylvia Burwells obvious euphoria at being nominated to run HHS will soon devolve into handwringing about the number of lifeboats there are compared to the number of people whose careers are riding on this rapidly sinking vessel. Secretary Burwell may discover that she is destined to go down with the ship.

More like the captain of the Bismarck.
Or the Hindenburg...
No sane person would take this on, no matter what is promised to them.
This woman is known primarily for her ability to spin numbers and cook the books. The very qualities Obama is looking for in the head of the HHS.
This woman shut down the WW Memorial! She is everything Obama needs in a HHS secretary. Someone who is absolutely evil enough to make patriots life a living hell.
Sacrificial lamb. Koolaid drinker.
“Someone who is absolutely evil enough to make patriots life a living hell.”
I seems the Obama prefers to have women do his dirty work.
Women with no honor, or value for human life. Women who
cower to him and are willing to become his evil minions.
I’ll bet Obama was a pimp while he was selling cocaine and
the mooch became his bottom bitch.
All hail the pimp in chief.
This tale fails to conform to the facts, however. First, Sebeliuss mismanagement of the health laws implementation went far beyond her Healthcare.gov debacle. In addition to that blunder, for example, she has undergone serious scrutiny pursuant to her legally dubious solicitation of cash from corporations to fund the implementation of Obamacare.
The establishment media have made much of Burwells long career in government, pointing out that it goes back to the 1990s when she served under President Clinton in various capacities, including Deputy Chief of Staff. None of these reports, however, mentions the most bizarre feature of her tenure in that administration. On the night that White House Counsel Vince Foster committed suicide during one of the myriad scandals that defined the Clinton presidency, Burwell (then Sylvia Mathews) rummaged through the dead mans garbage, presumably to make sure that it contained no documents implicating the President or Mrs. Clinton, one of Fosters law partners.
NBC News, in a story that somehow slipped past the editors, reports the following: A single person shut down the entire U.S. government. Not a congressman, but an unelected woman named Sylvia Burwell who sent the email that initiated the process that has closed national parks. This eventually led to the refusal by park rangers to allow WWII veterans into their own memorial, a travesty that clearly demonstrated how the White House was deliberately inflicting as much pain as possible on the public in order to gain political points.
The GOP Senate should force a very public review of this woman's record, and force the democRAT senators up for 2014 re-election in conservative states (AK, AR, LA, MT, NC, SD, WV ...) to go on record as supporting this government bureaucrat "who will do ANYTHING the boss asks" including "inflicting pain on the public".
She has some questions to answer before she can be Captain.
And he pays them less, to boot.
It is interesting that Obama would pick so many people who had original loyalties to the Rodham.
Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
Burwell received the two envelopes from Sibelius. One, to be opened in three months, contains instructions to blame the GOP for all continuing problems. The second is to be opened three months ater that, and instructs her to prepare two envelopes...
I say Bismarck because like the Bismarck, the ACA was designed to destroy. It should be hunted down like the ship was and sent to the bottom of the sea.
