The hunt is on today for a black bear who mauled a woman at her home in an upscale central Florida neighborhood, leaving her with injuries to her face, legs and torso and requiring her to get 40 stitches to the head.
Terri Frana of Lake Mary, Fla., went to her garage Saturday evening to grab bicycles for her children to ride down to their neighbor's house when the attack happened, according to her husband, Frank Frana.
As soon as the children left, Frana, 45, saw two bears in the driveway. She walked to the patio area where there were five bears eating trash that they had pulled out of the garage, her husband said.
"The bear got up on [its] hind legs and started to maul her, opened its jaws and put her head in the mouth and dragged her towards the woods," Frank Frana said. "Somehow she was able to pull herself out."

This story yes, is a negative towards bears but about 9 months there was that bear in Pa. who had a jar stuck around his head and these people freed it.
Just yesterday here, seems there was a story on a Florida Panther that attacked someone or something like that.
I saw lizards crawling up a window screen in Florida, and that was enough for me to decide never even to consider living there. That alligator just confirms my opinion. I’ll stay in N.Dakota. A moose walks down Main Street every few years, but that’s it.
Most bears only want that welfare check and wait at the end of the month for the mailman.
and then they eat the mailman too
sssssssssssssss
So who took the picture of the bear?
This is not possible. Probably every animal show I’ve watched about black bears and wolves insisted they are harmless to humans and livestock.
“I’m wondering how much disney she had to watch on how to act around and towards bears. People like her feed the bears or put their garbage out so the bears can get into it and then they wonder why they have a bear problem. I was raised in the mountains around black bears and have never, not even one time, had a problem with a wild black bear.
Garbage bears are always going to be a problem and must be destroyed.
Animal problems are almost always the results of stupid people. For these bears it is too late. Either now or later they will have to be killed.”
However, this is surely from all the non-stop subdivision building they do there. It’s just one after the other there. Bears gotta go somewhere. Like all the other animals. Tho the article didn’t express that she “intentionally” went to the back patio to SEE bears, they happened to be there upon her arrival, intruding on their feed. This could’ve happened to anyone. Including you. Animal problems are almost always the results of people, stupid or otherwise. So, people & animals have a real problem, don’t they. Animals don’t care if you “know” what they are all about or not.
Having never had a problem with a bear, I would say, makes you “fortunate”.
The husband.....who was hiding behind his wife, at the time.
What I said is that I have never had a problem with a wild bear. I did not say I had never had a bear problem. I was born and raised on a big ranch not far from Lassen National Park and there are plenty of flatlander/city slicker spoiled black bears around that ranch. They just do not last long. After they learn that there is an easier way to get food from people and people things they never stop. If they can't find the garbage cans or an open dump they will break into cabins and houses. Or better yet they will start killing calves and colts. They even used to bring the problem bears up from Yosemite to our area and turn them loose.
We didn't create the problem but we solved the problems every time we found one.
This ladies attitude about bears is clear. She walked out into the middle of them. She was plumb disney trained. The only way to solve that bear problem now is to kill the bears.
If they transplant them they will just cause someone else problems and sooner or later someone will have to kill them.
Keep up the disney work, we really don't mind taking care of the garbage, the garbage bears that is.....
And no I really do not have to live with the problems that someone else has created......
**Knock. Knock.........Who’s there?..............**:D
Isn’t it racist to mention the bears’ color?
