Stop with the "perfect" talking point. There is a simple test. Does the candidate have a track record of moving the political football toward the conservative goalpost? Sarah Palin has a great record of this. Newt Gingrich too.
As for Ted Cruz and Mike Lee, they talk the talk. They appear to be the type capable of moving the ball the right way. Rubio appeared to be of this type too. None of the three has a track record yet.
McCain has a record of fighting to move the ball to the progressive goalpost. Ditto both Bushes, Romney , Dole and all the other losers. There are none so blind as those that refuse to see.
I hate to break it to you, but here on the premiere conservative website, the notion of Sarah Palin being a good conservative is OFTEN met with resistance. Newt as well. A taken out of context quote will quickly appear as “proof” of their liberalism.
I’m not going to stop anything. I think this country is a hot mess. Obama convinced the mush brained yewt that he was going to rob from the rich to give to them and meanwhile, the republicans decided that it was cool to be the victim and the circular firing squad commenced.
You have the primaries to battle for your candidate, whoever that is. AFTER the primaries and the nominee is selected if I hear this nonsense that “I’m not going to vote for X because X isn’t conservative enough”......well, it’s just ridiculous.
In 2012, you had two choices. Obama or Romney. If you “stayed home” because Romney wasn’t your perfect candidate, you supported Obama. Period. In 2016, you will have two choices, most likely Hillary and the republican. There will be no viable third party candidate, no matter how dreamy that sounds. So, buckle up and vote. Staying home to be the “victim” is the lazy way out.
