Well the Christ vacuum can be laid at the doorsteps of Christians.
They’ve bought into the secular idea that you leave Christ behind in the church.
Now they don’t always need to be telling unwilling people that, e.g., the Lord is good and mad at what they’re up to, but there are a million ways of showing the Lord is there that aren’t superficial. As St. Francis said, “Preach the gospel. If necessary, use words.”
That’s true, we haven’t fought the agenda to push Christianity out of the public square and into the shadows, beginning with at least Madelyn Murray O’Hare era.
