LAS VEGAS -- Armed Bundy family leaders are meeting with BLM officers to discuss what will become of the cattle that the feds removed from BLM land, over the past week.
Tensions are running high and I-15 is closed in both directions, about seven miles south of Mesquite, because protesters have blocked the freeway, according to Nevada Highway Patrol.
The protesters have gathered in support of rancher Cliven Bundy, who has been locked in a legal battle over grazing rights with the federal government.
Nearly two dozen police officers and a SWAT unit are on scene.
NHP is advising people to not even try to go to Mesquite from Las Vegas. Troopers have tried to get cars through the area but they are not having much luck.
There have been no overt threats of violence from the protesters.

The BLM law enforcement officers are in Mesquite as they wait to leave the area. Police are there to help them do that safely.
It was announced Saturday morning that Sheriff Douglas Gillespie, Bundy and the BLM were able to reach an agreement over the cattle the BLM has already removed from the federal property.
The BLM has offered to pay Bundy for the cattle already confiscated, sources say. The protesters say the cattle should be returned to Bundy.
This is a developing story.

Something to the effect of what Kim Jong-Un does with a flame thrower to his adversaries?
The protester started to block the on-ramp to the interstate, then began to actually slow down and block it. The NSP came along and got things moving, then CLOSED I15 so that the BLM could move out.
The protesters were even nice enough to move to the other side of the overpass so they wouldn’t spook the cattle when they (the cattle) were released.
I'm still looking for confirmation. I've heard lots of different numbers.

He doesn’t owe one damned thing ... imbecile ... do some research before you open your stupid pie hole
Not talking to you directly ... I own a small ranch about 150 miles south of the Bundy’s. I am expecting trouble from these same idiots any day now. it’s got me a bit passed ... so forgive me for being a bit emotional about it
Passed = pissed
Gotcha. I’m sort of surprised they didn’t just kill them all, but I’m glad they did not. Cost quite a few calfs, though. The helicopter roundup separated quite a few cow/calfs.
That said, this isn’t over yet. We have to watch the BLM bastards every second now. Pisses me off they had snipers posted.

“They didnt count on hundreds of supporters showing up with cameras.”
Make that number 5,000.
Highly likely ... it is very important that this forum, talk radio, et. al. continue promoting (and uncovering) the truth of this matter. It already looks very bad about Reid, his cronies, and the BLM.
I’m sure Bundy knows, but isn’t saying. I wouldn’t if I were him. Like I said, this isn’t over and it’s not time for public accounting yet.
200 is a lot of cattle. Just saying.
Geography wasn't your strongest class was it?
NOT so brilliant.
Hang in there mister, and run up the flag here if there's anything Freepers can do.
And that number is in dispute. It may be much less.

And it may not be. Time will tell. In any event I wish Mr. Bundy nothing but the best.
Have a pleasant evening.
Contact them “nicely”.
Yep. Those cows can get tricky. They were probably conspiring against the agents and snipers, somehow. BLM had to be safe, ya know.
