They seemed to jump the shark from conservative well-styled clothes suitable for the office to rather formless and boring stuff that cost more and didn’t last as long about 3 or 4 years ago. My wife used to shop there but hasn’t bought anything there in 4 or 5 years - she said it’s not as well made, doesn’t look as nice and costs more.

I have shopped at CC...and like your wife found their quality declining in the past few years....

I agree. Many years ago I used to buy from Coldwater once in awhile. I quit even looking there for the same reason as your wife.

Yep. They used to have well made, kind of artsy clothing that was good for work or anything. The designs were always a bit different from other retailers.

About 5 years ago they seemed to drop all the colorful, whimsical clothes in favor of dull, shapeless, ordinary clothing - the stuff you would find at Chico’s.

I stopped buying for that reason. If I want minimalist designs in ugly colors, I can shop anywhere.
