There is a nice song from the musical Camelot called the simple joys of maidenhood.
One part goes like this:
“Shall I not be on a pedestal,
Worshipped and competed for?
Not be carried off, or better st’ll,
Cause a little war?
Where are the simple joys of maidenhood?”
More and more, I think govt. thinks like this.
“Shall I not be on a pedestal,
Worshipped and competed for?
Not be carried off, or better st’ll,
Cause a little war?
Where are the simple joys of Government?”
Chasing its own tail
