A magnitude-6.6 earthquake shook Nicaragua on Friday afternoon, sending people running frightened into the streets less than 24 hours after a magnitude-6.1 quake rattled the Central American country.
There were no immediate reports of new casualties or serious damage, but the U.S. Geological Survey said the quake was felt in El Salvador and neighboring Costa Rica.

Is it just me... or is the major activity moving north? First Chile, now Nicaragua. if it keeps moving north...LA or the Pacific NW? Lots of faults to chose from...take your pick.
It was Nicaragua where Roberto Clemente was headed to deliver aid after an earthquake when his plane went down in ‘72.

Son & wife are in Nicaragua and there is no damage at her parents home in Managua. Scary, yes. No reports yet of any major damage.

I suspect that there may not be many living that close to the quakes epicenter

Yes, that can be a bigee. The last big one caused the Mississippi to flow northward, and created Reelfoot lake in NW Tennessee.

Yes, if that caldera blows, predictions are that it could
affect much of America, east of Yellowstone.
