On the other hand...expecting them to regularly recommend patches to block themselves doesn’t seem a reasonable expectation.

It would be a crime for them to use that to access a US based computer owned by an American.

Uh Oh ... Bigger than I first thought. To me this means if someone sits on this information till the next security breach then our accounts, identities, credit cards and all financial information could be emptied overnight or gradually as is currently taking place. Instead of a few waking up to start the day and owns nothing and all your accounts are empty larger blocks of people will wake up to a new reality. Heck, in the right hands a single country a security breach of this magnitude could financially wreck our entire nation. Bin Laden's dream realized. Have always said is not a question of 'if' but of 'when'. Maybe I'm wrong. Have been wrong several times lately but am not comfortable knowing this much information has been compromised.

I suspected this. Whatever “fix” is made to ssl will probably have backdoor access for the government.

The obamacare website probably had all the code and has all the code necessary for any breach of security on those servers including attachment to all tax returns and filing at the IRS. Bad news for us and bad news to any governments attached to our IRS Servers.

There might be a silver lining in all this though. DiFi and all the congresscritters that have complained about the CIA spying on them is the least of their worries, if that is a silver lining. Don’t think these congresscritters realized what that obamacare website and servers were actually for. They (the congresscritters) are compromised too.

Wonder who obama and some of his minion made this deal with. Not only are the People compromised. I remember reading something about holder saying his information had been compromised ... Might have been a ruse for the real coming of the meltdown. Now would holder lie? Would obama lie? Yep ... the supremes, the congresscritter, all of the executive branch (compromised) except for the select few that probably made a deal. Lord ... the fun is just beginning.

So, if I am understanding this, this bug has been around since 2012, millions of machines have potentially been exposed to the bug by the NSA and others, and for the past 6 months millions of individuals have exposed medical, tax, income, and identity information through SSL that is potentially compromised ...
What could go wrong?

How many people had their credit card info stolen and compromised while the gooberment knew of this vulnerability and did nothing to fix it but hid it and exploited it?

they didn’t care. They are finding their enemies and will use whatever blackmailing tactics to get those who are lukewarm to turn on their enemies. The muslim brotherhood in the administration is building quite a database.
