Cruz: Holder Should Be Impeached For ‘Defying Congress And The Rule Of Law’ In IRS Scandal
CBS DC ^ | 04/11/2014 | CBS DC Staff

Sen. Ted Cruz said Attorney General Eric Holder should be impeached if he doesn’t indict former Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner, who is linked to the agency’s targeting of conservative groups.

Speaking on Sean Hannity’s radio program Thursday, the Texas Republican labeled Holder the “most partisan attorney general the country has ever had,” and added that Holder should be impeached for “defying Congress and the rule of law.” Cruz cited the attorney general’s refusal to indict anyone in the months since the inspector general found that conservative and Tea Party groups were singled out for tax purposes.

Sorry, you’re wrong. Public inertia is critical in doing something hard…like impeachment. You could not be MORE wrong in fact.

You should get the transcript of that entire exchange,Mr. Gohmert was asking Holder how he could give transcripts of interviews in the Holy Land case which Gohmert had asked for 3 years earlier,to lawyers for terrorists, and the terrorists themselves and not give them to Congress?
He then made the statement about holder not caring about contempt, the meat of the exchange has been ignored

No Edmund I’m not saying that. You are inferring that I’m saying that. Cruz probably is speaking with house members. But as long Boehner, Cantor and McCarthy are in charge of the House nothing of substance will happen. Sooner or later you actually have to take action

The chances of that happening are not good as when they get rid of Boehner in January the little weasel Cantor will likely take over. He is even worse than Boehner. Its a vicious circle.

Impeachment first, then indictment.

Get the criminal out of the job first. It is a given he shall never resign or be fired by the Current Occupant now squatting in the White Hut.

The loyalty of John Mitchell did not protect him when the Watergate cover-up was made public. People keep glossing over it, but the relatively trivial incidents at the Watergate complex, in themselves not very important on the scale of crimes committed in the DC area, was made much worse when it was first denied, then belatedly Nixon took responsibility. The difference is, the Current Regime has never accepted culpability in a much wider range of malfeasance of office.

From Obama’s initial use of illegal campaign contributions when he reneged on his public agreement with John McCain that both of them would adhere to the same funding guidelines, all the way up to today’s blatant lies about ObamaCare, with notable points of gross malfeasance in between (as in the Black Panther voter intimidations in Philadelphia, Fast-n-Furious, Benghazi, IRS, and NSA, to name just a few examples) tell the tale of Obama’s malfeasance and put to rest any honest debate on the issue.

And Eric Holder has been part of the protective coterie all along the way, running interference and deflecting any serious attempts to bring the truth out about any one of these scandals which would have driven any other President from office, and certainly would have guaranteed only a single term at best.

a prime opportunity to be rid of “crying boy” boehner passed by in 2012 when every single one of the so-called House ‘conservatives’ voted to keep that butthead as Speaker. SMH

“Gee, Eric, why don’t I want to go there?”

.
Better yet, “Gee Eric, what do you propose to do if I want to go there?”

So...you're saying that Congress won't move because it's right but instead won't move unless they're sure the public doesn't give a damn? Well that explains a lot.

No, simply saying that you have to pick your battles, and time your battles….and it is extremely prudent in something like this to build some support first.

Princples without brains is a net negative.
