Levin mentioned Eisenhower and Little Rock (1959 IIRC).

The commanding general of the troops sent to Little Rock was Maj. Gen. Edwin Walker. Walker raised the ire of the Kennedy brothers a couple of years latter and left the Army. (Resigned. Did not retire IIRC.)

Walker at the time commanded the 24th Infantry Div in Germany and wanted his troops to know the evils of communism -- coincidentally, the enemy the Army was trained to fight. JKF and RFK did not like it that Walker was using rightwing literature. IIRC Walker was W.W.II special forces-type combat hero.

Walker aligned with rightwing politics including the John Birch Society. JFK's Attorney General, RFK, had Walker arrested and held for mental examination. Even the ACLU joined in the outrage and Walker was release within days.

All of the above is from memory w/o verifying and I mention this because the other night John Batchelor and a guest maligned Gen. Walker claiming many things about Walker the most egregious was that Walker stirred racial violence at the U. of Mississippi.

IIRC walker sued the wire service AP for reporting the lie and he won and kept winning as AP appealed all the way to SCOTUS who agreed that AP simply erred and did not owe Walker anything.

I emailed Batchelor with reference to documents explaining it all -- as best as I understood the documents -- that verified the aforementioned account. No response. Of course.

One more thing.. Lee Harvey Oswald attempted to kill Walker by firing shot(s) at Walker from outside Walker's home through a window. But missed. IIRC Oswald used the same rifle that he used to precisely hit JFK.

Levin had some words about LBJ. So do I.

If Vlad Dracula had an evil twin LBJ would be him. Besides impaling, "Vlad ordered people to be poisoned, blinded, strangled, hanged, decapitated, stabbed, disemboweled, skinned, exposed to extreme elements and animals, hacked, dismembered, burned, boiled, scalped, roasted, nailed in the head, buried alive, . . . He invited all of the poor and sick . . . to a fake party. He asked them if they wished to be be anything other than poor people. When they all said yes, they were all burned immediately."

Just have to add that the assets and wealth would be taken by LBJ.

In the early 1960s one Bobby Baker was on the way to being convicted of all kinds of corruption and crimes. Baker had been a protégée of Senate Majority Leader LBJ and Baker was the Senate's Secretary to the Majority Leader. LBJ was now the VP and rumored to be out as Kennedy's VP in 1964.

Forget Baker. Who had the most to lose if the Kennedys, whom LBJ did not get along with very well at all, remained as the government of the U.S. of A.? (There was also the matter of various murders.)
